Widney received her MFA in Interior Design and worked in various capacities of the design industry before founding Cupstid & Co. in 2016. Her classical training combined with employment for residential designers and custom home builders has given her a well-rounded approach to design aesthetics and implementation.

Widney believes that no Charleston home is complete without antiques. A cookie cutter interior devoid of objects and furnishings with a history is one without soul. ​
